Greetings, webheads. My name is Dave Watson, I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and obviously you're on my homepage. Now, any fool can put together a homepage dedicated to a specific band (singer, musician...) or anime show (character, creator...), but dammit, I like so many of both that it would be an insult to both myself and you to be that restrictive. As such, I have included tons of links to favourite music and anime sites, all of which will enable you to waste large spans of your free time without truly contributing anything to the quality of your life, but what the hell, you should still find it entertaining. I've tried to keep this page streamlined, with few graphics, because, after all, there is a difference between wasting your time and WASTING YOUR TIME. Whenever I can find them, I'll also try to include links to various utility web sites, so you can improve the quality of the time you waste sitting on your ass in front of a computer. I hope you enjoy it, and if you want to bookmark it, I'll be honoured, but don't forget to shut your computer off and get out in the fresh air (or whatever you have that passes for air in your area) every now and again. Air is good, and it's free as well. If you insist on staying in and bangin' on the keyboard, however, you're perfectly within your rights to do so. If you know of (or run) any websites within the topics on this one, and you think it might be right up my alley, you may be right, so please drop me a line. Also, if any links anywhere in WWWWT Page are broken, please tell me about it so I can fix it. Thank you. |
Boredoms' eYe, Ear, Nose and Throat Page: The wildest, weirdest, noisiest, and (arguably) most fun rock band to ever come out of Osaka, Japan. Includes the constantly-updated current versions of my discographies, which are probably the most comprehensive Boredoms listings on Earth (if there are any that are more comprehensive, tell me where they are, 'cause I wanna see 'em), a set of pictures and some links.
The Fatima Mansions' Evil Music Page: The reason why bands like Pearl Jam and Soundgarden sold millions while these scrappy, inventive, and truly exciting Irishmen's records wound up stuck on the fringes is beyond me. Here's a discography and attempts at transcribing their lyrics, plus some links.
Furnaceface: homepage@anyspeed: To hell with Alanis Morissette, this band is the best that Ottawa has to offer. Until they can get it together to do it the way they want to, here's my resource for this fine trio, including lyrics, a discography and lots of links, including some of the band's favourite sites.
The Severed Heads Liberation Front Page: Lyrics, articles (whenever I can find them), links to other Sevs pages and info on the Front.
Being Upfront: A Pictorial Guide to Bodacious Women in Anime: A multipart guide to the female anime characters who provide a valuable service to anime fans worldwide. If they loom large over or bounce through your favourite anime, chances are that they'll be featured here. Includes links to sites about the shows in question. No Adult Content Whatsoever (but does have a fairly saucy sense of humour to it).
Love Damage: The Viz Video Girl Ai Lie Reports: Find out just why exactly I petitioned Viz Video to clean up their sub translations of Video Girl Ai, and why I have ended up boycotting them and encouraging other anime fans to do the same. Includes the highly-detailed fan translations of the first five chapters of the manga by Ka-Ping Yee.
The Video Girl Ai Hate Censorship Page: A collection of scans from Masakazu Katsura's amazing manga which were altered by order of Jump Comics after the first few runs of the tankouban (not by Viz Comics, who are currently publishing them in English), including guides to the images to explain their contexts. Take note that there is nothing explicit in any of the images (the only anatomy seen are breasts and buttocks), and no portrayals of sexual activity whatsoever; in short, nothing that really caters to anyone's prurient interests (unless you're really desperate). If you are a "concerned parent" or anyone who fancies themselves a moralist, then I heartily recommend that you read this instead. If you are a minor or new to the show, go to the Video Girl Ai Manga and Anime Resources page instead and learn what the show is really all about.
Silly Love Songs: The Video Girl Ai CD Guide: After having this one stuck in the freezer for almost four years, I've finally defrosted it and it's cooking nicely right now. Romaji and translated lyrics of the two soundtrack albums, plus information about other VGAi/related CDs, some of which you may not have been aware of before.
Well, that's it. What did you think? Let me know by clicking here and expressing yourself.
